The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, travels to Honduras this Wednesday as head of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE), for the general elections of that country to be held next Sunday, November 28.

Jáquez Liranzo was appointed by UNIORE for the aforementioned purposes and will carry out his observation work in the company of the full member, Rafael Armando Vallejo Santelises, and the Director of Planning and Development, of the JCE, Joel Lantigua.

It will exhaust an intense work schedule with the electoral authorities, political parties and civil society, in accordance with the observation protocols.
Hondurans will elect the head of state who will exercise the functions of direction of the Executive Power of their country, in addition, 128 full congressional deputies and 128 alternates; 20 deputies to the Central American Parliament, 298 mayors, 298 vice mayors and 2,092 councilors.

The body in charge of organizing the elections is the National Electoral Council (CNE) of Honduras, the highest electoral authority in the administrative, technical and logistical fields.

Jáquez Liranzo also exercised the same responsibilities on March 14, when the Primary and Internal Elections in that country were held.

It is recalled that the Dominican Republic has held the pro tempore presidency of UNIORE since last March, represented by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE).
