On March 14, the Primary and Internal Elections of the Political Parties of Honduras were held, where a total of 4 million 842 thousand 117 Hondurans were summoned to elect the candidates from a total of 3,204 positions for: President or President, 3 appointed / appointed to the Vice Presidency, 298 Municipal Corporations (Mayor or Mayor, Vice Mayor or Vice Mayor and their respective Councilors or Councilors), 128 deputies to the Congress of Honduras and 128 alternates, as well as 20 deputies to Parliament Central American.

The observation mission of the UNIORE was carried out between March 11 and 14 for these Primary and Internal Elections of the Political Parties and was made up of a total of 21 representatives of the electoral authorities of the members of the organization, from eight countries. : from Bolivia (from the Supreme Electoral Tribunal (TSE), Salvador Romero Ballivián, President, María Angélica Vaca Diez, Vice President, and Isabel Romero, Official); from Brazil (from the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), José Gilberto Scandiucci, International Relations Advisor); from Colombia (from the National Registry of Civil Status (RNEC), Patricia Rico Rojas, Departmental Delegate of Valle del Cauca, Yaneth Noguera Ramos, Departmental Delegate of Cauca, and José Duarte from the Atlántico Delegation); from Ecuador (from the National Electoral Council (CNE), Christian Solís, Head of the Office of the Vice President and Valeria Granda, Advisor to the Presidency); from Paraguay (from the Superior Court of Electoral Justice (TSJE), Fabricio Rossel, Deputy Director of Human Resources, and Gerardo Morales, Director of the Electoral Technical Advisory Unit); from Puerto Rico (from the State Elections Commission (CEE), Jessika Padilla Rivera, Alternate Presiding Judge); from the Dominican Republic (from the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Jáquez Liranzo, President, Patricia Lorenzo, member, Denny Díaz Mordán, Legal Consultant, Marcos Cruz, President and Santiago Sosa, Magistrate); and from Uruguay (from the Electoral Court, Martina Campos, Legal Secretary).

On behalf of the UNIORE Executive Secretariat, the following participated: Sofía Vincenzi Guilá, Operations Coordinator, Tasheena Obando, Consultant, and Andrea Tercero, also Consultant of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights-Center for Electoral Training and Participation (IIDH-CAPEL). After attending the opening ceremony of the election day on March 14, the members of the UNIORE Mission visited a total of 28 voting centers in the city of Tegucigalpa, for which the Mission was divided into four observation routes .

La Unión Interamericana de Organismos Electorales (UNIORE) y Protocolo de Tikal (Asociación que agrupa autoridades electorales de Centroamérica y el Caribe) expresaron su respaldo al Instituto Nacional Electoral (INE) de México, ante la situación que vive ese país, en lo relativo a la consulta de Revocación de Mandato.

Las organizaciones electorales, mediante un comunicado conjunto, sostuvieron que confían en que el INE atenderá con toda puntualidad y efectividad las resoluciones de las autoridades jurisdiccionales para dirimir la controversia surgida en relación con la Revocación de Mandato, solicitada por el mandatario de esa nación.

JCE President travels to Honduras as head of the UNIORE Observer Mission

The president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE), Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, travels to Honduras this Wednesday as head of the Electoral Observation Mission of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE), for the general elections of that country to be held next Sunday, November 28.

Jáquez Liranzo was appointed by UNIORE for the aforementioned purposes and will carry out his observation work in the company of the full member, Rafael Armando Vallejo Santelises, and the Director of Planning and Development, of the JCE, Joel Lantigua.

UNIORE concludes XV Conference with rejection and condemns of attacks on electoral bodies

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.- The XV Conference of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) concluded this Tuesday with the Dominican Republic as host country, an event that coincided with the 30th anniversary of the entity that brings together 33 electoral bodies.

On this occasion, the event was under the pro tempore presidency of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), in a day that included two days of work and that brought together 52 delegates from more than 19 member countries.

Inauguration of the XV UNIORE Conference with DR as host country

Santo Domingo.- The XV Conference of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Bodies (UNIORE) was inaugurated this Monday, an event that coincides with the 30th anniversary of the creation of the entity that brings together 33 electoral bodies, this time with the Dominican Republic as a country host, represented by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE).

The event, which will take place on November 1 and 2 at the Embassy Suite by Hilton Hotel in the city of Santo Domingo, brings together delegations from more than 19 UNIORE member countries.

Inauguration of the XV UNIORE keynote conference “Challenges of Democracy and Electoral Institutionality”, with the Dominican Republic as host country

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic, represented by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), will host the XV Conference of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE), which will take place on the 1st and November 2 at the Embassy Suite by Hilton Hotel in the city of Santo Domingo.

For this day in 2021, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the creation of UNIORE, there will be 19 delegations from 24 member countries of the body, who will meet at this meeting that aims to solidify and contribute to democracy from the electoral bodies.

Román Jáquez participated as head of the Electoral Observation Mission in Mexico

The pro tempore co-president of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (Uniore) and president of the Central Electoral Board (JCE) of the Dominican Republic, Román Jáquez Liranzo, participated as head of the Electoral Observation Mission in the last federal elections process and premises of Mexico City, last Sunday, June 6.
 
Jáquez Liranzo, fulfilled his work of observation in the electoral process where Mexican citizens voted to choose 500 representatives of the Federal Chamber of Deputies, 1,063 deputies, 1,923 municipal presidencies, 2,057 receiverships, 14,222 regidurías, 204 councilors and in addition to the presidencies of 22 municipal boards, 22 receiverships, 88 regidurías and 299 community presidents.
