Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic, represented by the Central Electoral Board (JCE) and the Superior Electoral Tribunal (TSE), will host the XV Conference of the Inter-American Union of Electoral Organizations (UNIORE), which will take place on the 1st and November 2 at the Embassy Suite by Hilton Hotel in the city of Santo Domingo.

For this day in 2021, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of the creation of UNIORE, there will be 19 delegations from 24 member countries of the body, who will meet at this meeting that aims to solidify and contribute to democracy from the electoral bodies.

To fulfill its objective, UNIORE celebrates its conference with a relevant topic according to the electoral context and panorama. Based on it, agreements are made and recommendations are generated to put into practice in the member electoral bodies.

The opening ceremony will be held this Monday, November 1, at 9:30 in the morning, and will feature the interventions of José Thompson Jiménez, executive director of the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights / Center for Electoral Advice and Promotion of the Executive Secretariat UNIORE; Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, pro tempore co-president of UNIORE and president of the Central Electoral Board of the Dominican Republic; and Ygnacio Pascual Camacho Hidalgo, co-president pro tempore of UNIORE and president of the Superior Electoral Court of the Dominican Republic.

The activity will also feature the presentation of the keynote address "Challenges of Democracy and Electoral Institutionality", by Lorenzo Córdova Vianello, president of the National Electoral Institute of Mexico.

This year the XV UNIORE Conference will consist of 4 plenary sessions, including two panels on "Autonomy and independence of Electoral Bodies and the Importance for strengthening democratic institutions", as well as "Disinformation and its consequences in electoral processes ”, By experts in the field.

The plenaries will be moderated by the pro tempore co-presidents of UNIORE, justices Román Jáquez Liranzo and Ygnacio Pascual Camacho Hidalgo, presidents of the JCE and the TSE of the Dominican Republic, respectively.

They will accompany the president of the JCE, Román Jáquez Liranzo, the titular members Rafael Armando Vallejo Santelises, Dolores Fernández Sánchez, Patricia Lorenzo Paniagua and Samir Chami Isa.

Meanwhile, the president of the TSE, Ygnacio Pascual Camacho, will be accompanied by the members of the Plenary of that high body: Juan Alfredo Biaggi Lama, Rosa Fiordaliza Pérez, Pedro Pablo Yermenos Forastieri and Fernando Fernández Cruz.

SANTO DOMINGO.- El Tribunal Superior Electoral (TSE), informó este jueves que el presidente de esa entidad, Marcos Antonio Cruz García, fue invitado a participar como jefe de misión de los observadores internacionales de la Unión Interamericana de Organismos Electorales (UNIORE), en las elecciones generales de Perú, que serán celebradas este domingo 11 de abril de 2021.

La entidad detalló que el magistrado Marcos Cruz, es también copresidente de dicho organismo internacional en nombre de la alta corte que preside.

Dominican Republic assumes pro tempore presidency of UNIORE

Misión de UNIORE presenta informe de observación electoral de Elecciones Generales de Ecuador

Quito, Ecuador. - La Misión de Observación Electoral de la Unión Interamericana de Organismos Electorales (UNIORE) que asistió a las Elecciones Generales de Ecuador del pasado domingo 07, encabezada por el presidente de la Junta Central Electoral de la República Dominicana, Román Andrés Jáquez Liranzo, presentó el informe preliminar de observación al Pleno del Consejo Nacional Electoral de Ecuador (CNE).

En el informe de observación electoral, la Misión reconoce la labor del CNE de organizar un proceso en medio de la pandemia. Asimismo, señala que el proceso electoral transcurrió sin incidentes que alteraren el desarrollo normal de la jornada y felicita al pueblo ecuatoriano por su compromiso y decisión de acudir a las urnas en medio de una crisis sanitaria.

Misión de la UNIORE firma memorándum de entendimiento con Consejo Nacional Electoral de Ecuador de cara a las elecciones generales

Quito, Ecuador.- El jefe de la Misión de Observadores Electorales de la Unión Interamericana de Organismos Electorales (UNIORE), y presidente de la Junta Central Electoral (JCE) de República Dominicana, Román Jáquez Liranzo, firmó un memorándum de entendimiento que tiene como objetivo promover el intercambio y generación de experiencias en materia electoral y formular recomendaciones y observaciones de carácter técnico electoral que permitan al Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) de la República del Ecuador, fortalecer sus procesos de gestión en temas electorales, a propósito de las elecciones que se celebrarán el próximo domingo en esa Nación.

En un acto encabezado conjuntamente con la presidente del CNE del Ecuador, ingeniera Shiram Diana Atamaint, Jáquez Liranzo en sus funciones como jefe de Misión, dijo que el trabajo de los observadores de dicha misión se enfoca en la votación, conteo y consolidación de los resultados de las elecciones generales 2021, con respeto a la soberanía del Estado.
