The Ecuadorian Sectional Elections of 2004 were held on October 17, 2004 to renew the positions of 22 Provincial Prefects, 91 Provincial Councilors, 219 Mayors, 893 Municipal Councilors and 3980 members of rural parish councils for the 2005-2007 and 2005-2009 terms.

The Venezuelan recall referendum of 15 August 2004 was a referendum to determine whether Hugo Chávez, then President of Venezuela, should be recalled from office. The recall referendum was announced on 8 June 2004 by the National Electoral Council (CNE) after the Venezuelan opposition succeeded in collecting the number of signatures required by the 1999 Constitution to effect a recall.

The 2003 Elections of the Federal District were held on Sunday, July 6, 2003, simultaneously with the Federal Elections, and the following elected officials of the Federal District were renewed: 16 Delegation Chiefs and 66 Deputies to the Legislative Assembly.

General Elections were held on 27 April 2003 to elect the President, Vice-President, as well as Senators, Deputies and Governors.
