The 2008 Municipal Elections in Chile were held on Sunday 26 October 2008, where the heads of the local administration, i.e. the communes.

The 2008 Constitutional Referendum in Ecuador, known simply as Referendum 2008 or mistakenly as the 2008 Popular Consultation, was held on September 28th of that year. The objective of this referendum was the approval or rejection of the constitutional project drafted by the 2007 National Constituent Assembly to replace the 1998 Constitution. The question was: Do you agree with the text in the New Political Constitution written by the Constituent Assembly?

A vote of confidence in President Evo Morales, in the form of a referendum, was held in Bolivia on 10 August 2008. The vote was held to determine whether Morales, Vice President Álvaro García Linera, and eight out of nine departmental Prefects should stay in office. The question was: Do you agree with the continuity of the policies, actions and administration of the department's prefect?

Presidential elections were held in the Dominican Republic on 16 May 2008.

General Elections were held on 10 April 2008 to elect the President, Vice-President, as well as Senators and Deputies.

Provincial elections were held on March 16, 2008.
